Food waste in a circular economy
Event summary
We are hosting an in person workshop for FDF members to consider interventions and solutions to reduce food waste. This follows some recent engagement with Defra’s circular economy team who have asked us what industry wants to see in the upcoming circular economy agrifood roadmap.
The aim of the workshop is to begin developing a vision for industry, find out what help our members need and showcase good practise to inspire attendees.
We will use this to consider which interventions and solutions we want to use in:
- an industry led response for feeding into the circular economy taskforce; and
- the delivery of FDF’s Ambition 2030 food waste pillar.
The event will be held with the British Retail Consortium at their London offices, however breakout rooms will be formed so that manufacturers can speak privately about issues specific to our sector.
Who should attend: The workshop is most suitable to those with the ability to reduce food waste e.g. operations, procurement and sustainability teams.
More detail to follow: We are actively engaging with members on what we are conceptualising, what we think members will get out of this and hear what will be most useful.
